\ BEGINNER DRUMS

Age: 5-9, 10+, Adults (maximum enrollment 10 students)

Description: Students will learn the basics of rhythm, beats, drum notations (sheet music), and drum technique

\ BEGINNER HIP HOP/BREAKING

\ BEGINNER INTERMEDIATE HIP HOP/BREAKING

Ages: 8+ (or with Instructor approval)
Maximum enrollment 15 students

Attire: Sneakers and knee pads are required (Please no clothes that are restricting or revealing)

Hip Hop Description: This beginner class will introduce basic moves and styles of dance birthed from the hip hop culture. Hip hop is more expressive and known for not having boundaries when it comes to exploring your own individual style and rhythm. This class helps break the mold for kids who want to move but do not like being constrained by technique and regimen. They will have fun learning to move to beats, strike holds, and discover muscles they may have never moved before.

Breaking Descrption: This part of the class will break down breakdancing moves for beginners, including top rocks, transitions, tricks and holds. It is intended to encourage students of all skill levels to try new and different breaking moves and techniques.

BEGINNER JAZZ

Age: 10+ (or with Instructor approval)
Maximum enrollment 15 students

Attire: Leotard or tank with dance pants or bike shorts/ shirt and workout pants. Jazz footwear and tap shoes are mandatory

Description: In this beginner class we will be introducing basic jazz steps and technique (ex. Pointed toes, arm positioning, cross steps, basic progressions, turns and leaps)

BEGINNER JAZZ/TAP

Age: 4+ (or with Instructor approval)
Maximum enrollment 15 students

Attire: Leotard or tank with dance pants or bike shorts/ shirt and workout pants. Jazz footwear and tap shoes are mandatory

Description: In this beginner class we will be introducing basic jazz steps and technique (ex. Pointed toes, arm positioning, cross steps, basic progressions, turns and leaps) for the first 30 min. followed by instruction on how to properly use and walk in tap shoes and then into a basic tap class (learning sounds, beats, and basic tap steps with our feet).

\ BEGINNER TUMBLING (A)

Age: 3-5

Description: This is an introductory safety-orientated class that develops motor skills while teaching gymnastic terms and basic gymnastic skills. Students learn to follow directions, take turns and have fun while developing their gymnastic skills. Skills to teach include, but not limited to: front/back roll, tuck, pike, straddle positions and jumps, bridges, cartwheels, handstands, strength and flexibility skills.

\ BEGINNER TUMBLING (B)

Age: 6-9

Description: This is an introductory safety-oriented class that also develops motor skills while teaching basic gymnastic skills and terms at a more advanced developmental level. Skills to teach include include those of Beginner Tumbling (A) class above with progression to straddle and pike rolls, handstand forward rolls, headstands, one-hand cartwheels, front and back walkovers.

\ KEIKI HULA

Age: 5-10 (or by instructor approval)

Attire: Pa'u (hula skirt)

Hair: Must be pulled back out of the face

Description: This class is for beginner hula dancers. Classes begin with oli exercises and protocol. Basic hula steps will be taught and developed. Students will also learn to dance with implements.

\ KEIKI TAHITIAN

Age: 3-8

Attire: Fitted top, pareo

Hair: Must be pulled back out of the face

Description: This class is for beginner tahitian dancers. Basic tahitian steps will be taught and developed. The dancer will also be developing an "ear" to hear the timing in tahitian drum beats.
